Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports (JOCR) Refund Policy
Welcome to the Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports. We are committed to providing a straightforward and fair process for authors choosing to publish with us. As our APC is levied only upon acceptance of a manuscript, we offer the following guidelines regarding our refund policy:
1. Cancellation after Acceptance:
- Once an article has been accepted for publication and the APC has been paid, the Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports does not generally issue refunds. The publishing process involves considerable effort and cost, which is initiated immediately upon acceptance.
2. Overpayment:
- In the case of an overpayment or duplicate payment due to an error, the excess amount will be fully refunded. Evidence of the overpayment must be submitted to the editorial office.
3. Publication Errors:
- If there is a critical error attributable to JOCR that compromises the scholarly integrity of the article and it cannot be corrected by publishing an erratum or corrigendum, a partial or full refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
4. Withdrawal Due to Journal Fault:
- In the event that a manuscript must be withdrawn due to a mistake or oversight by the journal, such as an unacceptable delay in the publication timeline or editorial mishandling, a full refund of the APC will be provided.
5. Extenuating Circumstances:
- The Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports recognizes that exceptional circumstances (e.g., an author’s inability to comply with the ethical guidelines) may necessitate the withdrawal of a manuscript post-acceptance. Such cases will be reviewed individually and may result in a full or partial refund of the APC at the discretion of the JOCR management team.
Processing of Refunds:
- All refund requests must be made formally in writing to the editorial office.
- Any approved refunds will be issued through the original payment method within 30 business days of the decision.
Right to Amend:
- JOCR retains the right to amend this refund policy at any time in order to adapt to future changes in the publishing landscape, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
